Update

I got email from my boss the other day informing me that the background check hasn't cleared yet. This is slightly annoying but, oh well, c'est la vie. What this means is that it is possible I won't even head east until next week. He told me he'd call me and let me know Thursday (as in tomorrow-or yesterday for you Down Under). It is possible to leave Friday to get there by Sunday, which was my original tentative start date but then we can't be sure about when everything will clear. If they haven't cleared me soon, he told me he'll just have me head out sometime next week. This is good because I can visit friends and people of that nature before I head out. And I have presents for Christina (chia)!!!!
I, uh, missed her birthday so I'm making up for it now.
:D You know I love you.

The Car

Yay, got my car back from my uncle yesterday and it seems to be working just fine. He said it needs new bearings and that they'll come in early next week and that'll easily be one day job which means I'll be able to leave on time for yellowstone. And then I got the car smogged and registered so it's all legal. Oye. But at least I am on track for everything. I should be heading out thursday I think. Now all I have to do is clean, clean, clean clean before I leave. And not just the car. :(

Gee, I wonder why huh?

Route

For the curious among you I believe this shall be my route:

Day one: 80 east, stop for the night in Battle Mountain, NV
Day two: Continue on 80E, 84/15 North right after Salt Lake City and stop for the night in Pocatello, Idaho
Day three: Continue on 15N then head east on 20 where I should enter Yellowstone at the West entrance. From there it'll be a drive until I hit 89N and this should take me to the North Entrance.

I should be hitting about 300 miles a day, give or take a few. I figure I can go about this far on a tank of gas, maybe. Hopefully, if not, oh well...

And each day I will try and find a Starbucks, order something and upload pictures and whatnot. It should be a long but beautiful drive.

AAA

Ok, so I renewed aaa today, let's hope I won't need it. :S

Welcome!

As many of you might already know, I am headed for Yellowstone National Park to work as a Park Ranger at the North Entrance Gate. I am really excited about this opportunity and as such, I felt that my trip there and my experience in the park deserve to be expressed.

But, as it is quite difficult to send out a hundred emails each time I so much as want to send a picture of a moose, I figured that a blog would be the sanest course of action. Yes, I know, I am thinking clearly, heaven help me.

I hope to keep all of you updated about where I am, what I am doing and so forth through this great medium, as I said, emailing you guys would be a hassle and a pain and quite frankly, I am not sure you're worth it. But then, I just might find this to be a pain and a hassle and wonder why I didn't simply email you guys. I suppose we shall never know shall we?

There will be wonderful use of verbiage as well as awe-inspiring pictures to astound the senses. And yes, I might actually use poly-syllabic words. I'm going to bring a dictionary and everything. :D Please comment, I will love to hear from you, especially those who I will be missing (you know who you are).

And if I know you from some place other than real life, go ahead and give me your handle, your nick, your toon or whatever. I'll know who you are and that's the important thing right?

I will most likely be leaving Wednesday, August the 27 and I will try and post every day. It might require a few minutes in a starbucks and a cup of tea but, I will try and keep you posted as I am on the road.

That's about it for now, until the morrow-
